대전시가 지역화폐 개편 모델인 ‘온통대전 2.0’ 공식 출범을 기념해 9월 1일 대전 대표 전통시장인 중앙시장에서 시민과 함께하는 장보기 행사를 개최하고 현장 소통 행보에 나섰다.
이번 행사는 시민의 일상적인 소비가 지역 상권의 실질적인 매출 증대로 이어지는 ‘온통대전 2.0’의 취지를 알리고, 전통시장 상인들의 목소리를 직접 들어 지역 상권에 새로운 활력을 불어넣기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 현장에는 허태정 대전시장과 조성칠 대전시의회 의장을 비롯한 유관 기관 관계자들이 참석했다. 허 시장은 중앙시장 5번 게이트를 시작으로 대전도매시장, 양키시장, 자유도매시장, 정원시장까지 약 250m 구간을 이동하며 상인들의 애로사항을 청취하고 시장 경기를 점검했다.
아울러 온통대전을 사용해 직접 물품을 구입하면서 개편된 결제 방식과 혜택을 시민들에게 홍보했다.
대전시는 이번 ‘온통대전 2.0’ 시행이 위축된 지역 골목상권과 전통시장에 온기를 불어넣고 지역경제 활성화를 이끄는 마중물 역할을 할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
캐시백 혜택 강화, 정책 연계 지원 확대, QR코드 결제 시스템 다변화 등 사용자 편의성을 한층 개선함에 따라, 소비 촉진을 통한 소상공인 매출 확대와 지역 내 자금 선순환 효과가 본격화될 것이라는 전망이다.
